In a non-instrumental track, after vocals, drums are the key to a song and a good mix. I also do electronic music but it is much more fun mixing with BFD 3. Of course the drumming track itself sounds like it was played by a beginner drummer. In the end the drums sound like they were actually played on an acoustic set to 99% of the world. I often send the drum mix out of my mixer and process it with a top notch compressor and gentle hardware eqing. In my dreams I would love to have real drums, real mics (a lot more than I have now), a talented drummer(I should have wrote that first as obviously it is the most important), a great room to record the drums, and more hardware such as pres, eqs, and compressors. I can slap some bus compression on the OHs and Room mics and bring the room out of the real studio space where they were sampled. Not sure if you are familiar with drum software, but in BFD3 I have tons of individual tracks to process. Putting UAD plugins and others on all the drum tracks. After recording it in midi to my DAW, I edit it to add articulations, volume,etc, and my crappy playing. I have an Alesis Command Kit X MIDI drum kit I use it to play into BFD 3 Software.
